Corrupted Fonts on PDFs

Corrupted Fonts on PDFs

Sometimes a PDF generated from Ostendo can be viewed on one device without issue whilst on another the fonts appear to be corrupted.

This problem can be as a result of the PC using Windows 10 Build 18362.1 Version 1903 or earlier.

It appears if the Windows 10 Update Version 1909 or later is applied and the PC is re-started, this problem is resolved.

NB: This problem relates to the PC attempting to open the PDF not the PC generating it from Ostendo.

If there are still issues with fonts and you have exhausted all other avenues,  we suggest the best option would be to change a setting within the System Master to enable the use of Ostendos old style PDF Generator (ie: pre Update 237). Run the attached Command script to amend the default PDF Generator.

NB: Any Datasheets that are automatically generated into PDF's will always use the New PDF Generator irrespective of the above setting.
