PDF Fonts not displaying correctly on some devices

Ostendo Update 237 introduces an upgraded Report and PDF Writer which resolves a character spacing issue when some specific fonts were used. The upgraded PDF writer also now caters for Extended Fonts.

Unfortunately the downside of this is that some IOS devices with their default pdf viewers struggle with displaying certain fonts that have been generated in a PDF. These fonts include: Calibri, Cambria, Vivaldi.

(It should be noted that the same pdf file can be viewed without issue on an IOS device using PDF viewer software like Adobe.)

Most other fonts eg: Arial, Verdana, MS Sans Serif, Courier, Century, Century Gothic, Microsoft Sans Serif and Tims New Roman present without problem in IOS

There maybe other fonts outside of those indicated above however they would not be a typically used by most organisations.

The only shortcoming of embedding fonts will be the PDF file generated will have a larger file size.

NB: Displaying PDFs on Android devices irrespective of these settings does not seem to present the same problem.
