Continuum Edition EnhancementsEmailingOver the past week, additional enhancements have been made to the emailing functionality within Ostendo. These features are available from Build 256 onwards.
Email ServiceBy default, any Continuum database will use the Development-X (AWS SES) email service if no API Emailing Service record has been configured. This default service is intended for testing purposes only and is not suitable for live environments. Emails sent without a configured Emailing Service will be delivered from: Ostendo Continuum noreply@ostendofreeway.com Please note, we intend to turn this default service off in the future. Prior to going live (including during testing), it is recommended that you configure an Emailing Service (API Credentials screen) for each database using either: Once an Emailing Service has been configured, Ostendo will use that service’s default “From Address”. If an Ostendo user has an email address defined in their user profile, this address will take precedence over the Email Service default “From Address”.
Email AttachmentsA new General Rule has been introduced: “Always attach Files and Reports when Emailing” This rule applies only to HTTPS environments and determines how documents (e.g. reports, invoices) are sent: - Enabled → Documents are sent as physical file attachments (ie: PDFs)
- Disabled → Documents are sent as URL links
In TCP/IP environments, emails will always include physical file attachments.
Help FilesAll Help files have now been migrated to HTML format, with content being progressively updated. The Help Release Notes have also been revised to reflect Continuum Edition functionality and ongoing changes. |
