Continuum Deployment GuidesWe have consolidated a comprehensive set of deployment guides to assist with implementing Ostendo Continuum across a variety of environments. These guides provide the information required to deploy Continuum for evaluation alongside an existing Ostendo 242 installation, allowing sites to test Continuum either within their current TCP/IP environment or by implementing a more secure HTTPS deployment on their existing server infrastructure. As there are several deployment options available, we recommend first reviewing the Continuum Decision Process document. This guide will help both Partners and customers determine the most appropriate environment for testing Continuum, while also assisting in planning their long-term Production deployment. Important Considerations- We strongly recommend having IT personnel with the appropriate expertise available when performing any of these configuration changes.
- HTTPS is the recommended deployment method for Continuum. It provides the highest level of security and eliminates the need for Remote Desktop software when accessing the system remotely.
- When TCP/IP is used with Continuum, Remote Desktop software is still required for remote access.
- Ostendo 242 must only be run using Firebird 2.5.
- Continuum in a Test environment can be deployed using either Firebird 2.5 or Firebird 5, although Firebird 5 is strongly recommended to achieve the best performance.
- Continuum in a Production environment must be deployed using Firebird 5.
- Partners and customers planning to deploy Continuum in the cloud, or those looking for the simplest deployment and ongoing management experience, should consider a managed cloud hosting provider such as Cassini Cloud.
