Reckon - Ostendo Link Checklist
Below is a checklist of various things you need to check in case there is a connection error between Ostendo Link and Reckon. An example of this is the following error... "XMLDatafile must be specified'
- If using mapped drives, both the Ostendo link AND Reckon Accounts must be pointing to the same location via the same drive. In this case, Q.
- Make sure Reckon and Ostendo link program were installed as normal (not as Administrator) but you were logged in as administrator when installed. ** Reckon is supported in TS 2003-2008 (works on 2010 also no issues) but there is a step by step procedure – make sure the installer has this document before installing on a TS!!!
- Set up Ostendo user in Reckon with full privileges
- Ensure the Ostendo link program does NOT have ‘run as administrator’ ticked in properties > compatibility
- Go to services.msc and re-start the Reckondatabase manager
- Open Reckon as Admin, switch to multi-user
- Close Reckon Accounts
- Run Ostlink (if you get error re file in different location, change the Ostendo link (in this example, to Q)
- Agree to allow the Ostendo link app to access Reckon, select the user ‘Ostendo’ and allow to log in automatically
