Installing Firebird 2.5.8.27089 in a multi user environment

Installing Firebird 2.5.8.27089 in a multi user environment

It is suggested that for multi user (Client Server or Terminal Server environments) that Firebird be can installed with the 'Classic -> Super Classic' configuration. It has been demonstrated that in 'some' environments this can improve performance over the standard 'Super Server' configuration.

It should also be noted that ideally Firebird should be configured to run over all processors on the server, unless a specific processor is continually under load from other applications.

If Firebird was originally installed on a server with the default options (ie: Super Server), you can uninstall it and re-install it as Super Classic, first ensuring Firebird has been stopped. Before proceeding to re-install Firebird, ensure you have Firebird 2.5.8.27089

Firebird V2.5.8.27089 is available directly from the following link:  http://www.ostendo.info/downloads/firebird/firebird25.exe
