How do I setup Ostendo for Cash (Payments GST Basis)?

Definition:

Sales Revenue is posted at time Invoice was raised. Tax Amount is posted at time of Payment

Method:

 - Define the Accounting Basis File>System Configuration>System Settings

MYOB Only:

 - (MYOB Only) Setup a new Liability account in the GST section of the GL called 'Deferred Tax' (This account will hold all GST that has been charged but not collected)

 - In the Accounting Link program, map the Cost Centre 'Deferred Tax' to this account

 - In the Accounting Link program, map the GST Tax Codes from Ostendo to those in MYOB

 - Ensure all MYOB Tax Codes have 'GST Collected' and 'GST Paid' GL accounts linked to them

 

Quickbooks:

 - In the Accounting Link program, map the Cost Centre 'Deferred Tax' to the Tax Payable account in the GL

 - In the Accounting Link program, map the GST Tax Codes from Ostendo to those in QB's

 

General Ledger Entries Created From Transactions:

Sales Invoice $100 + 15% GST (no costs assumed in this example)

Invoice Created (This jnl is dated the date of the Ostendo invoice):

DR Debtors $115
 CR Sales $100 (no tax code)
 Cr Deferred Tax $15
 

Invoice Paid (This Jnl is dated the date of the Ostendo Customer Payment):
DR Debtors $115
 CR Sales $100 (with tax code)
 CR GST Collected $15 (This account is determined by the Tax Code settings in MYOB)

 CR Debtors $115
DR Sales $100 (no tax code)
DR Deferred Tax $15
