Dynamic SQL Error when performing a Global Name Change (Apostrophes in the Primary Key)

If data has been introduced into Ostendo outside of the normal user interface eg: Importing, then in most cases the database will reject the record. The normal Ostendo interface automatically deals with this by changing a ’ to a ` when the record is saved. However in the past it was possible to import data whose primary fields had apostrophes.

This then creates problems later when the record is selected via an SQL statement or updated internally by the database.

To resolve this it is suggested you use the Global Name Change utility to change the primary key from having a ’ to a `. The problem here is that the SQL behind the scenes does not like seeing single apostrophes on their own. The attached document explains how to get around this problem.
