Can you schedule an Auto backup of the Ostendo database
Ostendo Scripts will NOT provide access to backing up / copying the database
Ostendo Script Scheduler will NOT provide access to backing up / copying the database.
The best method is to allow WINDOWS operating system to run BACKUP on a timed event or even on the Windows Application Scheduler to backup to tapes or a separate hard disk on the network.
If the server has a RAID system - RAID 3 or higher - backups are not specifically required as the system will stripe the data across several disks making it always available.
The database utilities should be used monthly to do a manual backup - restore of the current data - while no-one is logged into Ostendo, in order to optimise the file size.
