Xero Integration User Permissions Change 29/6/2026We have been notified by Xero that, effective 29 June 2026, changes will be made to the security requirements for Manual Journal API endpoints. As a result, the Xero user account connected to the Ostendo/Xero integration must have a security role of no less than Adviser. If the linked integration user does not have the required permissions, accounting batches posted from Ostendo to Xero will fail. What You Need to Check Prior to 29/6/26
- Log in to Xero.
- Navigate to Settings > Users.
- Select the Xero user account that is connected to the Ostendo integration.
- Confirm that the Business and Accounting access level is set to Adviser.
- Press the "Update permissions" button
For the purposes of the Ostendo integration, it is not necessary to grant permission to add or edit bank account details for Customers or Suppliers. Ostendo does not create or modify this information within Xero. We recommend reviewing these settings before 29 June 2026 to ensure uninterrupted posting between Ostendo and Xero.
