Apple have recently released IOS Version 17 on the 18/9/2023.
Unfortunately this IOS version is not currently compatible with Freeway and will cause problems and prevent Datasheets from being Completed and returned to Ostendo, therefore we advise all IOS (iPhone / iPad) users NOT to apply the V17 Update until we advise otherwise.
Please contact all your Freeway sites and convey this IMPORTANT message.
The problem we have is that whilst Apple have published Version 17, all the associated development tools have not been as quick to be released. This means that a lot of native IOS app developers (including Development-X) are unable to modify their apps to conform with V17 until these tools are made available.
In the interim, we warn all IOS users of Freeway to turn off their device Auto Updates in their Settings->General->Software Update menu and DO NOT INSTALL VERSION 17 until we advise so.
There are currently no issues relating to Freeway compatibility with IOS V16.
In the next 24 hours, we will be turning on a new feature within Ostendo that will enable a new Menu Option under Help. This option 'Mobility' will direct you through to a website resource containing comprehensive Help on Freeway. The front page of this website will clearly show the latest Android and IOS versions we currently support for Freeway.
Fortunately this current problem is only applicable to IOS, therefore there is not issue with the current Android Version 13. That said, we would also encourage all Android users not to apply updates until they have checked the Mobility website Help for confirmation of the latest compatible OS version version.
We will advise when Apple IOS V17 is fully supported within Freeway |
